Column flotation has gained wide acceptance in the minerals industry as a technically sound and economical means for producing high purity products.Through innovative research and equipment design, CPT has dispelled myths that the application of column flotation is limited to cleaning applications.With over 500 diverse industrial installations,we have demonstrated that CPT columns can be successfully used as roughers and scavengers in both direct and reverse flotation applications.

Mineral Flotation

The concentration of minerals by column flotation is a key mineral processing technology. CPT has designed, supplied and commissioned over 500 flotation columns for cleaning, roughing and scavenging duties, worldwide, for metal and non-metal mineral processing operations.

PhosPro - Phosphate Flotation

Column flotation has been applied to a wide variety of phosphate ore types ranging from volcanic to sedimentary. Although benefits are seen across the entire particle size range, column cells are particularly well suited to the production of fine and ultra-fine concentrates.

BitPro - Bitumen Flotation

CPT’s proprietary column flotation cells for bitumen recovery (BitPro) have demonstrated the ability to improve bitumen recovery while reducing the levels of clay in the bitumen froth. The Bitumen Flotation System makes use of modular groupings of columns that provide the required flotation capacity in a compact and economical package.

Organic Recovery - SX/EW

Used primarily in SX/EW (solvent extraction and electrowinning) circuits, CPT flotation columns recover the residual organic reagent (lixiviant) from rich electrolytic solutions prior to electrowinning.
